History
History - 1980 - 1982 - 1984 - 1986 - 1990 August, 1984 Our third reunion was held in Antelope, MT with Caroline and Rose and their families as hosts. The date being Agust of 1984. Kenny bought the Lutheran Church, which is next door to his home, when Antelope parished merged with Plentywood. This made an ideal center of operation. Meals were served there and the basement was cool. With daytime temperatures hovering over 100 degrees, and night time not too much less than that, the basement was really appreciated. Our out of state guests probably saw northeatern Montana at its worst. There had been very little moisture for two years and grasshoppers in abundance. Lawns were brown or almost extinct where the grasshoppers had cleaned out every blade of grass. However, over 100 people attended this reunion. Our vacant lots, just north of our place, was the scene of more than one game of softball. The temperature didn't stop the younger generation from playing ball nor the older ones from playing horse shoe. On Sunday morning most of the family members attended church at Nathanael Lutheran Church in the rural Dagmar area. This was especially meaningful to Eva and Wilbert Hansen and their families as Eva's Dad, Henrik Plambeck, had visions of a colony at Dagmar and a church. He served there as substitute pastor in the summer of 1941. Monday morning, it was time to leave again. Antelope's population had more than doubled for the reunion and now it was back to normal again. History - 1980 - 1982 - 1984 - 1986 - 1990 |
