Plambeck Family Reunion
History

History - 1980 - 1982 - 1984 - 1986 - 1990

How it started (1980)
by Rose Torgerson

In Spetember of 1979, my two sisters, Caroline and Agnes, and I travelled to Iowa to visit several cousins living there. Some we had never met, others once or twice. On our way home we decided we had had such a wonderful time. Agnes made the remark that we should do this more often. We then decided, why not have family reunions every so often. Then the question of where and when came up. Agnes suggested in one year at the "Jorgensen Ponderosa" if that was agreeable with Henry and Edith.

July 1980 was the date agreed upon and about 44 people attended. The Little Ponderosa, with Henry and Edith as host and hostess, was buzzing with activity. Tents, campers, pick-ups, and cars filled the parking area. Badminton, croquet, and horse shoes were on hand all day. A soft ball game was in progress one afternoon. The players ranged in age from 5 to 40. Anyone not playing filled the fan section.

A meeting was held and a time and place was discussed for the next reunion. It was decided to have the next one in two years and the same place. The time to leave came all too soon with good byes and "see you in two years."
